National Parks to Visit with Your Kids this Summer
Looking for a last minute summer vacation destination to visit before school starts back up in the fall? At Forever Resorts, we provide lodging and outdoor activities located near some of the greatest national parks in the United States.
Load up the kids and take a road trip to one (or more) of these family-friendly national parks:
Bryce Canyon’s famous towering hoodoos are quite the sight to see, either from afar or up close. If you’re looking for a short hike with the kids, look out for the Queen’s Garden trail. It’s one of our favorites to recommend to families with children that can handle a moderately steep hike. Not feeling a hike? Don’t worry, there are plenty of amazing views that can be seen from roadside pullouts and viewpoints throughout the park.
Make your travels even easier by staying at The Lodge at Bryce Canyon, the only lodging available within the national park.
What would catch a kid’s attention more than watching water spew up over 100 feet from the ground? Yellowstone National Park is a great place to bring your kids to witness geysers, waterfalls and wildlife. Take them on an ATV ride or a guided hiking tour with Scenic Safaris to round out your trip.
If you haven’t witnessed the Grand Canyon in person, you absolutely need to. Deemed one of the seven natural wonders of the world, visitors from far and wide come to take in the mile deep canyon located in northern Arizona. Don’t forget to book your lodging reservations at the Grand Canyon Lodge (located at the north rim) before you go.
Utah’s Zion National Park is one of our favorite parks to recommend to families. Not only does it provide plenty of hikes suitable for all ages, but there’s a free shuttle service making it easier for families to get from one trail to the next. After a full day of adventuring through the park, make your way back to historic Parry Lodge for a good night’s rest.
