Top 5 Dishes at Forever Resorts

When you think about our different properties around Forever Resorts you may think about the amazing views, cool places, and awesome adventures you can have while at our properties, but one thing we don’t get to experience until we are there is the food. We wanted to give you a sneak peak of some of our favorite dishes that you can find when visiting some of our properties. From the Badlands to the Grand Canyon and all the way up to the Grand Tetons, we’ve got you covered.

1. Sioux Indian Tacos at Cedar Pass Lodge

Cedar Pass Lodge in South Dakota made the top of our list for their Sioux Indian Tacos. These are a must try item when you visit the lodge for a meal. This taco comes complete with delicious fry bread as the base as well as refried beans, buffalo meat (or black beans if you prefer vegetarian options), lettuce, tomato, cheese, and black olives on top. The taco also comes with a side of salsa and sour cream to complete the dish.

2. Full or Half Size Nachos at Signal Mountain Lodge

Just like the peaks of the Grand Tetons that tower over Signal Mountain Lodge, their amazing Full Size Nachos tower high with enough food for 2-4 people to enjoy. If you’d prefer to have your own personal helping of these nachos, be sure to ask for the half size instead. No matter which size you choose, both dishes come with tortilla chips and a mountain of cheese, onions, tomatoes, black olives, and lettuce along with any combination of beef, chicken, or black beans. Sour cream and homemade salsa complete the dish. Head over to the Trapper Grill for lunch or dinner if you’re interested in trying this with a margarita after a long day hiking in the park.

3. Superior Lake Trout at Rock Harbor Lodge

If you have the amazing chance to visit Rock Harbor Lodge on Isle Royale in Michigan, be sure to dine at the Lighthouse Restaurant and enjoy the Superior Lake Trout. Caught from Lake Superior, this amazing 8 oz. of freshly caught fish is oven baked with lemon and herbs and is served with the vegetable of the day and a wild rice pilaf. There are a number of different entrees available at the Lighthouse Restaurant as well as the Greenhouse Grill that is a part of Rock Harbor Lodge as well. Visit their website to learn more about their dinging options.

4. Sugarloaf Bison Short Ribs at Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim

Slow roasted with onions, celery, carrots, rosemary, and garlic, the Sugarloaf Bison Short Ribs are the way to go when you’re dining at the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim Restaurant. Along with a side of mashed potatoes, fresh vegetable, and pan gravy, these bone-in ribs are a great meal choice after a long day on the trail. Once you’re done with dinner, be sure to head over to the Rough Rider Saloon and grab a cold beer or Prickly Pear Margarita to enjoy out on the veranda. You can make reservations for the restaurant in advance and we encourage you to do so as their dining does fill up fast.

5. Chicken Fried Steak at Chisos Mountains Lodge

You can’t do Texas without an old fashioned Chicken Fried Steak and gravy on top. At Chisos Mountains Lodge they have a number of dishes to choose from but this is one of our favorites when visiting the lodge. Served with a size of Texas toast, asparagus, and tomatoes, you won’t walk away hungry after enjoying this dish. As the main dining establishment within Big Bend National Park, Chisos Mountains Lodge provides a variety of dishes for every customer that decides to dine there after a long day traveling around the park.
